CASTER - Caster allows improved Hi-speed directional
stability, better steering response, reduced dive during
braking and reduced lift during acceleration. A higher
caster angle will make the steering harder, making the
steering wheel return faster. The opposite is true for a
lower caster angle. Caster is usually not factory
adjustable on most cars.
TOE - Tire wearing angle. Excessive positive toe
(pointed inward) wears outer edge and excessive
negative toe (pointed outward) wears inner edge.
Manufacturers generally set toe slightly positive. Toe
is the most important and most frequent misaligned
angle of all.
CAMBER - Tire wearing angle. Excessive negative
camber wears the inner edge of a tire and excessive
positive camber wears the outer edge of a tire. For
improved Hi-speed handling, more negative camber
allows more grip and more positive camber allows
looser traction.
